Paranorman

After watching a short clip on the film, I found myself wondering whether it was completely stop motion animation or whether there was any CGI involved as the look was very new and fluid!

After searching the web i found out that Paranorman is the first ever stop motion film to utilize a 3D printer for all of its models.

This could be the cause of the very different appearance the film has.

This is a good example as to where the animation industry is going, if one can more easily model using a 3D program then they can beam that model to a printer and immediately start animating!!

GRAVITY

Just finished watching the film gravity from warner bros, absolute incredible visuals, a stunning feat of CGI and live action.

a few facts about the film:

The first shot lasted a total of 20 minutes with no cut scenes, this would have taken a very long time to render!

It almost happened in real life! the theory that on human action can cause a massive chain reaction (the debris)

the significant time frame in the film is 90 minutes which is one of the main aspects in the films story, but coincidentally (or not) the films duration is also 90 minutes!

grossed almost 300,000,000 with a budget of 100,000,000
