Inspiration
As you are aware i am very fond of creating my own models.
it is restricted at the moment to just the buildings/objects etc. but after seeing the very strange work of Mariel Clayton, why cant i not evolve to doing sets for animations! it would encompass various different aspects of the things i love, and make them more accessible to involve in animating with them!
Here are some examples of her work!
some people would just class her work as being 'playing with a barbie doll' but as you can see it is addressing much more serious issues, such as suicide, re-birth, family, man slaughter and many more. so i suppose its the deep emotions that her work invokes that reminds me of what i strive to do in all my own work. the constant feelings that it induces. but also the attention to detail is what i can relate to, i can imagine she is a perfectionist like myself. also the lifelike poses in which she portrays with the dolls, at first i didn't like her work but the more i investigated the more fascinating it was!
