VAN

VAN Night.

My good friend Will is doing a course at Leeds met uni, and came up to me with his idea of holding events around Leeds to appreciate the work of local budding artists.

the VAN night stands for 'Video art night' so its all manor of video art, whether it be graphics, animation or film.

i was asked to take the responsibility of collecting art from my uni and encouraging people to submit their work, as it was a great way to get your work and name out there.

the night itself was short as we didn't have many submissions, but you have to start somewhere! but it gave me the chance to see other students work and see how they are coping with briefs set and other work they encounter.

we plan to make this a monthly thing in the near future and try and grow our audience and substitutions over time, but it was still a great learning experience.
